Ficus carica 'Negronne'
Birds will flock to the patio to visit this container tree!
'Negronne' bears one crop in midsummer (usually late July), then another in late September. In addition to keeping you in fresh figs for months on end, the sweet fruit lures every bird in the neighborhood to your garden, where you can study them up close as they nibble on the ripe fruit.
With maroon-black skin and bright red flesh, this fig looks as scrumptious as it tastes. Perfect for preserves or raw eating, it is a sweet treat within reach from midsummer till midfall. Self-fertile, so it needs no pollinator. Zones 7-10.
