'Rose de Rescht' boasts beautiful "old world", fully double, cupped 2- to 2½-inch blooms of fuchsia-red that age to pale lilac. These flowers, packed with about 100 petals, are borne on short stems covered in rough, dark green foliage. This charming, healthy, diminutive plant bears flushes of blooms during spring, followed by scattered flowers through summer and into fall.
An antique Damask Rose re-introduced in the 1940s, 'Rose de Rescht' offers a full and bushy habit for mixed borders or containers. It demonstrates excellent form and health, while simply regaling the gardener with rich color and powerful fragrance. It has all the merits of the Damask class: full rosette form, rich perfume and recurrent bloom. Zones 6-9.
