'Guinea Fowl' is an Aruncus like no other, with masses and masses of creamy-white flower plumes all season, neatly held up and out on very well-branched, almost shrub-like plants. The foliage is attractive, the flowers profuse, and the care very easy on this super-vigorous Goat's Beard!
The bloomstalks may remind you of Astilbe, except they are pointed outwards almost horizontally, very densely set with ivory flowers. Quite long-lasting, they are arresting at the height of the season, with a formal, symmetrical look quite distinct from the usual Aruncus cultivar. Expect them to continue all summer in great numbers!
The foliage of this selection is notable too, very finely cut and handsome on dense branches. Spring and fall are seasons of interest for 'Guinea Fowl,' thanks to the exquisite foliage on this 24-inch-high, 18-to-24-inch-wide perennial.
A shade lover, 'Guinea Fowl' thrives in the border, woodland, or container, giving structure and depth to any planting. It is famously easy to grow, and always looks neat and tidy, its leaves remaining fresh in any climate and its flowers abundant. We highly recommend this lovely cultivar to Wayside gardeners. Zones 3-7.
