Carefree Staple of the Shrub Border
High pest- and disease-resistance makes this shrub truly easy to grow
(Syn. 'Shirobana.') An original Wayside introduction, every inch of this 2- to 3-foot high and wide shrub is covered with white, red, and pink inflorescences from summer till mid-fall. Graceful, weeping branches show to superb effect in small spaces or as edging. And this shrub is so low maintenance, it is successful even in areas of the garden that don't get much attention.

Spiraea offers dense, twiggy growth and abundant flowers. It is excellent in mass plantings or as showy specimens. Easy to grow in sun in well-drained soil, all it needs is removal of the old wood after flowering in early spring to encourage new growth. 'Shibori' is particularly untroubled by pests or diseases. Zones 4-9.
