These flowers are perfectly formed and fully double, reaching 3 1/2 inches wide and sporting about 20 petals. As they open, the center of the bloom acquires a golden hue, fully revealed when the flowers extend wide and the central cluster of bright yellow stamens is displayed. These blooms have the exotic scent of myrrh (best described as a spice-infused tea rose fragrance), and appear in great clusters all over this shrub. Expect the heaviest bloom early in the season, with frequent encores!
Fragrant Wave was bred from R. Sexy Rexy®, and is a New Generation® Rose renowned for its vigor and disease resistance. It reaches 3 1/2 feet tall and nearly as wide in the sunny garden, makes a fine low hedge, and is compact enough for containers.
