This splendid semi-double is coming up for its 20th anniversary, and if the oohs and ahhs we've heard about are anything to go by, it is already a classic. And why not? Where else can you find such luminous color, shading from appleblossom-pink at the base of each petal through rich shades of rose-, coral-, and peach-infused pink. The large central cluster of golden stamens waves like a sea anemone on these exquisitely incurved, absolutely huge blooms. Imagine them in the garden or as part of an indoor arrangement. A very early blooming peony, 'Coral Sunset' is an ideal choice for southern and southwestern climates, where short springs and hot summers can rob later-blooming peonies of a few weeks of glory.
