The Best Blue Ever!
Thick, richly colored leaves add great contrast to the greens of the shade garden!
My choice for best blue of all time (a preference shared by many Hostaphiles!), this H. tardiflora-H. sieboldiana 'Elegans' hybrid boasts thick, color-drenched foliage of deep blue. The plant reaches 1 1/2 feet tall and spreads 4 feet wide, perfect for a breathtaking edging or undulating ribbon at the front of the border!

The lavender blooms in midsummer complement the foliage more beautifully than you would expect, and pink Astilbe, such as the neon-bright 'Rheinland', simply glow behind the matte blue leaves.

Hardy just about everywhere in the contiguous United States, 'Hadspen Blue' is easy to grow and trouble free. The foliage is thick and substantial, for long-lasting garden appeal as well as use as an accent in indoor arrangements. Zones 3-9.
