One-Third the Size of Other Butterfly Bushes!
Same rich, deep blue blooms as 'Black Knight'!

Plant Patent Applied For. Cultivar name: 'Adokeep'. If you love Buddleia but don't have the garden space for another big, rangy shrub, Adonis Blue™ was created just for you! A dwarf version of the renowned 'Black Knight', this compact little shrub is covered with enormous midnight-blue blooms over a long season. And it's compact enough to grow in a container!

These rich, deep blue flowers arise on tightly packed 6- to 8-inch stems, filled with the sweet Butterfly Bush fragrance and instant allure to butterflies and bees in the garden. They begin in early summer and continue well into fall, creating an impact of bold color even in small spaces.

And unlike its giant cousins, Blue Adonis™ is just 3 to 5 feet high and wide, well-branched and very bushy, so that it spends a good deal less space on stems and foliage and more on blooms. Ready to flower the first year, it's every bit as robust as larger varieties, but much more attractive thanks to the higher blooms-to-foliage ratio!

Blue Adonis™ is part of an exciting new line of Buddleias called the English Butterfly Series. Developed by Elizabeth Keep of East Mailing, England, the series seeks to create neat, dense, heavily flowering dwarf B. davidii cultivars. I think you'll agree that Blue Adonis™ probably exceeded everyone's expectations!

Plant Blue Adonis™ in full sun or light shade and any well-drained garden soil. At the end of winter, prune it down to about 6 inches from the soil line. It will regrow even bushier than before! Zones 5-7.
