The "Telephone Pole" Camellia!
Bred by the U.S. National Arboretum, it's certain to become a classic!
The perfect Camellia for tight places and splendid vertical color, Winter's Snowman is a columnar variety with abundant flowering over a long season, a dense evergreen habit, and superior cold hardiness. You cannot find a more stylish or hardworking Camellia for the garden!

These blooms are pure white, about 3 inches across, and held in a delicate, open position reminiscent of Anemones. They begin in late fall and continue into winter, arising all over this well-branched shrub -- right down to the ground!

Winter's Snowman reaches 12 feet tall, but never spreads more than 5 feet wide. This really distinguishes it from other Camellias, which tend to be rounded and a bit rangy. Ideal for more formal settings, it's just as easy to grow as its cousins, and never needs pruning.

This Camellia is a hybrid of C. sasanqua x C. oleifera, bred for cold-hardiness as well as for long bloomtime. It was developeda t the U.S. National Arboretum by renowned plantsman Dr. William Ackerman, and has proven itself dependable, very floriferous, and beautifully branched, so that it looks dense, full, and healthy year-round.

Winter's Snowman is an Ice Angels® Camellia, one of the fine series bred for greater cold hardiness and extended flowering. A full hardiness zone more cold-tolerant than older Camellias, it is vigorous and tirelessly floriferous. And if you would like more Ice Angels® for your garden, do consider April Remembered. Zones 6-10.
