This Japanese native provides bold attractive foliage 2 to 3 feet high as a backdrop for its most striking feature -- its large magnificent spathe which lasts 2 to 3 weeks. What makes this plant highly unusual is that in the wild, it actually changes sex each year. This helps avoid seasonal population fluctuations. In compliance with our policy, ours are nursery-raised bulbs. Zones 5-9.
