'Sun Flare' Embodies All the Best Qualities of Floribunda Roses
Profuse lemon-yellow blooms on a low-growing, bushy, disease-resistant plant.
Plant Patent #5,001. Cultivar name: 'JACjem.' 'Sun Flare' embodies all the best qualities of Floribunda roses. It offers loads of 3-inch sunny lemon-yellow blooms continuously throughout summer on a low-growing, bushy, disease-resistant plant with a spreading habit. This heat- and cold-tolerant rose has a mild licorice scent and makes a great complement to lavender roses or perennials. Spring pruning is recommended. Old and dead wood should be removed and canes that cross need to be cut back. Gardeners in warmer climates should cut back the remaining canes by about one-third, while those in colder areas will probably want to prune a little more than that. This rose will require winter protection if the wind chill factor drops below 20 F/ - 7 C. 'Sun Flare' makes a lovely addition to both gardens and containers, but container plantings will need winter protection. Zones 5-10.
