This refined beauty from New Zealand sets lots of 2-inch buds that open into soft, yet luminous, sunny yellow blooms of exquisite high-centered form. These long-lasting, mildly spicy scented flowers appear on long, straight stems perfect for cutting. Each bloom averages 4 ˝ inches and holds 17 to 30 petals. Aperitif® grows easily in the garden, displaying an upright, well-branched form that possesses outstanding vigor and overall health. This very disease-resistant rose has glossy, dark green foliage and can be trained as a climber. It should be pruned in the spring, with the removal of old canes and dead wood. Cut back canes that cross each other. Gardeners in warmer climates will want to cut the remaining canes by one-third, while those in colder climates will probably need to trim it a bit more. It requires winter protection if the wind chill factor is expected to drop below 20 F/ -7 C. Zones 7-10.
