Rare, Choice, Yet SO Easy to Grow!
Brighten late winter with 6-inch bloom clusters of richest salmon-orange!
Clivia is considered by most gardeners the finest houseplant in the world, bar none, and this splendid orange-flowered variety puts this rare, super-expensive plant within range of the rest of us! Unlike the hard-to-find yellow variety, C. miniata is actually affordable, and its giant bloom clusters in warm tangerine-salmon tones do a lot to banish the late-winter blahs! The graceful, strap-shaped, rich green leaves are beautiful year-round, held out from each side of the stem instead of all the way around it. And the glorious 6-inch flowerheads will leave you breathless! Clivia takes 4 or 5 years to bloom from seed, so we give you big, 3- to 4-year-old plants, ready to bloom within the next year or so! You will love these long-lasting flowers, perched atop their throne of glossy tropical foliage! Peerless for containers, Clivia miniata is very long-lived and seldom needs repotting -- in fact, blooming improves when this plant is potbound. Place in indirect light indoors, and if growing outdoors (it is perennial in zones 9 and 10), grow it in shade.
