The Most Compact Coneflower Yet!

Plants reach 12 to 18 inches tall and wide and begins blooming in early summer!

Plant Patent #13,560.

Longer-blooming than Kim's Knee High, this sport also offers a more compact, dense habit. Reaching 12 to 18 inches tall and wide, it begins blooming in early summer and continues all the way into October! The 3 1/2-inch white blooms are tinged with green for a fresh look.

Coneflower is one of North America's finest native plants, so it's widely adapted to tough growing conditions. Heat, drought, and poor soil are no problem. Much beloved for its ability to attract masses of butterflies, 'Kim's Mop Head' also offers tempting treats for the birds when the cones dry out on the plants. So if you want to bring lots of winged visitors to the garden this fall, let some of the flowers dry right on the plant.

'Kim's Mop Head' was developed by Kim Hawks, an authority on native plants. It is terrifically hardy and easy to grow, thriving in just about any well-drained soil. If you've got a "problem spot" plagued by hot, dry, unfertile conditions, consider planting not only 'Kim's Mop Head' but also her slightly taller cousin, 'Kim's Knee 'High.' (And if you really want to go whole hog, toss in a couple of scene-stealing 'Ruby Giant' plants, with glowing crimson-centered pink petals held out flat for a big color show!)

Space 'Kim's Mop Head' plants about 12 to 15 inches apart for thickest, most lush coverage. Enjoy! Zones 3-9.
