Plant Patent #15,890. Enjoy year-round beauty from this evergreen, drought-resistant new Lamium. Purple Dragon is simply the most colorful and vigorous we have seen yet, with handsome variegated foliage, large purple blooms, and a quick growth pattern that keeps weeds at bay and makes the garden floor look lovely. The large, toothed foliage is whitish-silver, shading into dark green around the edges. Very showy, it spreads rapidly on plants that reach 16 inches wide but just 4 to 8 inches high. In late spring and early summer, it becomes covered in large, Snapdragon-like blooms held in clusters up to 6 inches long. As a ground cover for the fully to partly shaded garden, Purple Dragon is unexcelled. It grows quickly, looks good in every season, and needs no care beyond a good start in the garden. Once established, it is quite drought-tolerant. Use it wherever you need the gleaming accents of silvery-white and rich purple. Zones 3-8.
