A Magnificent Specimen for the Japanese Garden!

Turns a bronzy purple in winter!

Few trees have the majestic look or easy care of this splendid Japanese Cedar. Radicans is a quick grower, and is not prone to the tip blight from which many other C. japonica cultivars suffer. It forms a tall, slender, wonderfully dense evergreen that offers year-round beauty as a privacy screen or specimen!

Reaching 40 to 45 feet high but just 20 feet wide, this tree displays an elegant silhouette. It is a quick grower, reaching 12 to 16 feet tall within 5 years of planting. And although it's an evergreen, this Conifer turns a rich bronzy-purple in winter -- a nice change of pace for the garden!

The foliage is exceptionally dense on this tree. Dark green and feathery, it offers good contrast to blue-leafed evergreens. And because Radicans does not suffer from tip blight like most other Japanese Cedars, it always looks its best.

Thrives in full sun to partial shade and any well-drained garden soil, though moist, enriched types are best.

Space these trees 20 feet apart for a dense privacy screen or perimeter planting. Zones 5b-8.
