Hakonechloa macra 'Beni-kaze'

Perfect for ground cover, edging, the border, or containers, 'Beni-kaze' is a splendid new Japanese Forest Grass that turns bright shades of red in autumn and delights from spring 'til frost with a rippled, slightly twisted texture suggesting movement. The plant reaches 2 to 3 feet tall and slightly wider, with slender, tapering, pointed leaves erupting from the center into cascading layers of color. Fresh green from spring through summer, they look lush and healthy, but at the first hint of chilly weather begin assuming red tones.
