Hakonechloa macra
Fall foliage is vivid orange!
This handsome grass sets its foliage in an arching habit, so that the leaves lie over and downwards, adding lovely texture to any setting. Make them tumble over rocks or ripple downwards on a slope. When planted en masse, they contribute stunning texture to the garden.
Reaching 12 to 18 inches high and wide, this grass is very easy to grow in rich, consistently moist soil. It is a slow grower, making it a good choice for containers and other limited spaces. But as long as it is not allowed to dry out, it will continue to slowly spread in the shade. Zones 6-9.Z 6-9; part/full shade; H: 12-18", W: 12-18
