The Hilda Niblett is a beautiful, low-growing shrub that has the full-size 4-inch flower trusses of much larger Azaleas. One of the main attractions of the Hilda Niblett is the unusual peach and white flowers it produces, that also bear shades of pink and red. Winner of several awards, the Hilda Niblett is evergreen and offers fresh bright green foliage year-round. This shade loving shrub will not reach more than a foot high, but will spread to about 3-4 feet wide and is trouble-free in even less than perfect soil. Plant it under spring-blooming trees or roses and it will begin to bloom in early spring in most climates and last dependably into the first weeks of summer. Zones 6 to 9.

My favorite azalea!

I bought a 'Hilda Niblett' azalea from Wayside about 30 years ago. It is the star of my backyard perennial garden from mid-May to mid-June here in St. Louis (zone 6). It is in sun until about 1 p.m., but as long as the soil doesn't get extremely dry, it is a healthy little emerald-green shrub that is about 20 inches tall and almost 3 feet wide now. This spring I bought another 'Hilda Niblett' from Wayside to plant in a mostly shady spot at my church (I'm the church gardener) and was delighted to have it produce some of its beautiful peachy-pink blooms a couple of weeks after being planted. In years to come it is sure to become a show-stopper.
Beautiful little azalea

Was looking for a low growing evergreen variety azalea to be a feature in front of a boulder in my garden. This one was it. Tolerated being in a pot for the entire winter/spring season when I couldn't plant it due to the quick onset of this past 2013-2014 severely cold winter. Now that it is in the ground, it is growing/thriving even more and is the perfect fit. The blooms are nicely variegated from white to peach to pink all in one bloom. It's bright green leaves look stunning against black mulch with a grey/brown boulder behind. Very pleased with this plant.
