Deer resistant and very drought tolerant.

Superb for soil erosion control.
(Syn. Elymus arenarius.) Much more tolerant of heat and humidity than the species, this elegant Blue Lyme Grass naturalizes readily, its stiff blue-gray leaves adding exceptional color to any setting. Topped by pale blue to white flowers that mature to beige in autumn, this deer-resistant, very drought-tolerant grass is superb for soil erosion control and difficult-to-plant heavy soils. Excellent for coastal plantings, it is evergreen in warm climates but benefits from a late-winter trim. Zones 3-9.

I just ordered 15 of these for my gardens....lovely grass with bluish tones....heat-resitant, hardy and comes back year after year...great with other perennials like coreopsis and coneflowers. Love this grass!!
The Real Blue Grass
James from NC wrote (March 18, 2012):
If there was ever a grass that could be called blue, this is it! This is the bluest grass I know. There is a downside--it spreads--but when taken into consideration that it has very blue leaves, great drought tolerance, and a reliable return record in its recommended hardiness zones, its tenacious character is a plus. A great grass for containers--especially those of clay and copper color.
