Hard to find, but just as easy to grow as more common varieties!

Very fragrant!
Syringa vulgaris 'Sensation' (Fragrant Picotee Lilac) is one of the most spectacular of all the hybrid Lilacs, and the only one we know with picoteed (white-edged) flowers. A graceful shrub slightly taller than it is wide, it makes a splendid specimen for the front yard, and instantly becomes the center of any spring planting!

This magnificent Lilac sports large clusters of rich wine-red blooms, each petal crisply outlined in white! The long, full trusses have a silvery luster that makes them even more eye-catching in the spring sunshine! A remarkable effect, and one that 'Sensation' shares with no other cultivar that I am aware of.

Space 'Sensation' shrubs about 8 to 12 feet apart in an airy location in full sun and well-drained soil. A yearly top-dressing of mulch, preferably well-composted manure, is beneficial. Zones 4-7. Cannot ship to AZ.
