Meadow Rue 'Lavender Mist'
Ideal for cutflowers!
The blooms are tiny -- just ΒΌ-inch across -- but borne by the many dozen on startling golden stems above rounded, bright blue-green leaves. This plant quickly grows up to 5 feet high and 3 feet wide, thriving in any soil that remains moist throughout the growing season. Poor soil and unseasonable cold spells are no problem for Lavender Mist!
Meadow Rue can take full sunshine, but is most frequently used in light to half shade, where it adds much color to the border. A fine accent planting, it looks fresh and clean from spring through fall, forming a bushy clump with dozens of flowering stems. Place it behind your Hostas and Ferns, or let its blooms join the fiery wands of Astilbe and the dangling bells of Bleeding Heart in the partly shaded garden!
Space these plants about 2 feet apart for good coverage. We sell 1-year-olds in 3-inch pots. They will reach 4 feet tall within 5 years. Zones 5-8.
