Picea
Adaptable, versatile evergreens
Picea (Spruce) are evergreen coniferous trees or shrubs that often display tall, narrow, symmetrical habits with sharp needles and attractive, dangling cones. There are numerous sizes, colors, and shapes from which to choose, however, including dwarfs and miniatures that do very well in containers. Picea make fantastic rock garden plants, additions to hedgerows, or stately specimens, due to their hardiness, tendency to be ignored by deer, drought tolerance (once established), and wonderful adaptability!
