Description

Commonly called blue star, this native perennial is long-lived and attractive in 3 seasons. Abundant clusters of small, starry, powdery blue flowers are held above a mound of willowy foliage, narrow and thread-like. The bright green leaves of spring and summer become suffused with dramatic hues of yellow, deep gold, and butterscotch in fall.

Easy to grow and relatively low maintenance, the plant benefits from being cut back after flowering and shaped into a denser mound. The plant is attractive to butterflies but repellent to deer.
