Description / Rosa Angel Face
All-America Rose Selections (AARS) Winner 1969
What a delight this classic floribunda is, beguiling you with a sweet fruity scent, "blushing" lavender blooms, and a free-flowering nature. Winner of several awards, Angel Face is the rose you will rely on for a big show for many seasons to come.
The flowers are exceptionally large?4 inches?for a floribunda, opening from attractive urn-shaped buds and arising in great clusters, beginning in early summer and continuing into mid-fall. The 30 to 35 petals are slightly waved, like a flared skirt, which adds to their depth. Some boast a faint, deep crimson outline along the tip, as if they had been dipped in wet paint. And all are richly redolent of sweet citrus, a scent so addictive that Angel Face received the ARS John Cook Medal for fragrance.
Known for its fragrance and striking lavender blooms with ruby accents, Angel Face is a rose gardener?s treasure. This award-winning floribunda boasts a strong sweet citrus scent that has earned it multiple fragrance honors, including the ARS John Cook Medal (1971) and the James Alexander Gamble Fragrance Medal (2001). Bred in 1968 from a cross of Circus × Lavender Pinocchio × Sterling Silver, this beauty carries the best traits from its renowned lineage.
Reaching 3 to 4 feet tall and about 3 feet wide, this upright, well-branched shrub thrives in full sun with moist, well-drained soil. Ideal for beds, borders, and mass plantings, Angel Face also makes a beautiful cut flower, filling vases with its unmistakable fragrance and long-lasting color. This classic floribunda delivers beauty, performance, and irresistible fragrance season after season.
