Named for the characteristic brindling pattern on its petals, 'Brindled Beauty' boasts a tie-dyed appearance, color swirling chaotically outward from the bright goldenrod beards. Each substantial bloom lasts two weeks or longer.

This cultivar of I. germanica grows 24 to 36 inches high and 12 to 24 inches wide, delighting with its sword-shaped green foliage and magenta-streaked peach petals!

This Tall Bearded is considered a Late Midseason Iris, an exceptional performance thanks to its high bud count and unique color pattern. It took home Honorable Mention in 1996 and an Award of Merit in 1999 at the American Iris Society awards. We are sure that you will appreciate having this exquisite Iris in your garden!

Like other Iris, 'Brindled Beauty' has herbaceous foliage, meaning it stays green and non-woody, dies back in cold winters, and comes back again in the spring. It grows happily in loam, sand, or even clay, so long as the area is well drained and sunny. And even though it is sure to catch the gaze of all who pass by, luckily deer tend to overlook it. This vigorous plant will colonize the garden bed, which means a more impressive display every year, but also means it can get crowded every 3 to 5 years and need divided. Zones 3 to 8.
