Description
Narcissus 'Ice Wings' is an affordable perennial that easily covers a large area of ground. The tubular flower is wonderfully fragrant, but doesn't attract pests, such as deer and rodents. Four or five bulbs should be planted per square foot in soil with an average amount of water. The garden almost glows with these bright flowers, which bloom in mid-spring. Also known as "Angel's Tears," Narcissus 'Ice Wings' nod down and delicately sway in the wind.
'Ice Wings' grow up to 18 inches in height, producing two to three flowers per stem that multiply for years. They thrive in full sun or partial shade. Cutting back on watering and removing offsets when they fade in the summer will help the perennial resurface the following spring. For a splash of color in the garden, the creamy Narcissus 'Ice Wings' complement other spring bulbs, such as tulips. When planted in groups, they naturalize easily and require little maintenance. Zones 3 to 8 are recommended for this hardy and gorgeous daffodil variety.
