Description / Cinco de Mayo™ Floribunda Rose
Cinco de Mayo™ offers giant clusters of multicolored blooms that will add a little fiesta flavor to any garden party. It's easy to see why this unique shrub won the All-America Rose Selections award in 2009.
The large clusters of blooms contain every shade of red, orange, magenta, purple, and smoke. The colorful blooms seem to fade into one another, making for an eye-catching color show. And it smells amazing, with the scent of fresh apples wafting from the delicate ruffled petals.
Cinco de Mayo™ is the child of the international award-winner, Julia Child, so you know it's a showstopper. Its unusual coloring pairs well with any other colors in the garden, but it also looks amazing as a mass planting.
The 3-inch blooms arise on 10- to 15-inch stems, opening from charming long, pointed buds. Reaching around 3 to 4 feet high, this rounded, bushy little shrub is cloaked in a dense layer of very disease-resistant, super-glossy medium green foliage. It's the perfect size for containers, mass planting, and hedge.
Cinco de Mayo™ thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. Spring pruning is recommended to help facilitate reblooming and old and dead wood should be removed. Make sure you protect it in the winter when planted in a container
