Description / Dicentra 'Stuart Boothman'
A native wildflower typically found growing in the eastern United States, this bleeding heart has nodding fuchsia pink flowers set against deciduous grey-green foliage that is fern-like in appearance. The blooms attract hummingbirds and make lovely cut flowers.
It has a mounding habit, growing 18 inches tall and wide, shown to best effect when massed or grouped; but its extensive rhizome systems also spread to establish colonies. The plant is long blooming, naturalizing, and deer resistant.
