This beautiful and low maintenance tree will make a great addition to your landscape as an ornamental tree or as a screen! Gorgeous large pine cones line the branches making this tree a truly spectacular sight. This evergreen is prized for it's foliage and beautiful cones! Branches are densely clad with short but broad needles that are a shiny dark green above and a glittering silver beneath. Interesting purple cones are produced when the trees are quite young which appear upright on the branches. When grafted to A. firma rootstock these plants can withstand the heat and bright sunlight while the roots are able to thrive. With year round interest, this tree is more heat tolerant than traditional Abies and is easy to care for! Lovely companion plants for this is Ninebark, Viburnum, Spirea, Smoke Tree, Pine, and Dogwood!
