A golden leafed Japanese Maple that won't burn in full sun! 'Summer Gold' is a great new palmatum that happily flaunts a gorgeous golden-yellow color even in hot, sunny areas. In spring, the leaves emerge light green, turning to golden yellow in summer, and finally to a bright yellow edged with orange margins for fall.
An upright tree with palmate leaves and a medium growth rate, 'Summer Gold' reaches a height of 8-12' at maturity. Plant in full sun to part sun, and bask in its brilliance! Its vibrant golden yellow shades are especially spectacular when grown next to red-leafed varieties! Zones 6-9.
