Description / Festuca 'Glow Sticks' Ornamental Tall Fescue
Festuca 'Glow Sticks' Ornamental Tall Fescue is an ornamental grass unlike any other. Offering year-round interest, this unique evergreen grass grows to about 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide. It blooms in spring, setting bright yellow flower spikelets that contrast beautifully with the spiky dark green blades. The flowers attract birds to the garden and make nice cut flowers for floral arrangements.
A Festuca arundinacea cultivar, commonly called ornamental tall fescue, 'Glow Sticks' has an upright, clumping habit. 'Glow Sticks' is a long-lived, deep-rooted, water-saving plant that's an excellent choice for drought-prone areas or xeriscapes. It works well mass planted in mixed beds and borders, or it can be grown as a specimen in a container.
A low to zero maintenance plant, 'Glow Sticks' grows best in sunny locations with moist to dry, well-draining soil. The plant is winter hardy to Zone 3, and it tolerates drought and resists disease.
