  • Description / Lycium barbarum Goji Sweet LifeBerry®

If its name is an indication of what to expect, Goji Sweet LifeBerry® is packed with many nutrients beneficial to you for many years to come. This amazingly nutritious plant, also known as known as Goji Berry, is loaded with vitamin C, protein and antioxidants. After serving Far Eastern diets for a long time, this easy to grow vining shrub can finally be found in American gardens too!

Called a superfruit because of its plenteous health benefits, Goji Sweet LifeBerry® can be eaten straight off the vine, dried or cooked. Its flavor is filled with a pleasant tomato inspired tartness along with an herbal scent. These oblong shaped berries start out as green and soon turn into orange red as they ripen. You can keep the berries on the plant from midsummer until frost.

Its spiny structure discourages pests from eating the fruit. In a single season, you will have shrubs that reach eight to ten feet high. Give it plenty of sunshine and good soil drainage and have a fertile plant for a long time. Zones 5-9.
