  • Description / Hydrangea Fire Light® Panicle Hydrangea

A Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrub, Fire Light® has incredibly large blooms that will spice up your beds or borders this summer and fall. This new hydrangea paniculata produces creamy white flowers in the midsummer, which will shift to pinks and reds as the weather cools. By fall, the gorgeous blossoms, held aloft by strong woody stems, will have everyone's attention as they persist into the cooler weather.

Fire Light® is a Proven Winner®, which means this shrub is second to none in beauty, health, and vigor, and was tested all around the world to prove that. It can grow to an impressive 6 feet high by 6 feet wide, but can be trained into a smaller area by pruning. The lush, colorful blooms make this Hydrangea an excellent focal point or a dramatic back drop for other flowers. It is especially complementary to roses, which will shine in front of Fire Light®.

This hardy hydrangea needs well-drained soil and a little sun. Pruning should be done in the late fall or early spring. It is very adaptable and will produce color-changing blooms year after year. Fire Light™ will be a summer and fall standout in Zones 3 to 8.

Discover tips to ensure your hydrangeas thrive, from soil preparation to pruning techniques, by following our expert advice on the Hydrangea Planting and General Care Guide and the How to Prune Hydrangea Plants blog.

Under the right fall conditions, some panicle hydrangeas can blush pink or red. The magic happens when cool nights meet the right genetic traits. In warmer zones, the color may stay closer to white, but the effect is gorgeous either way.
