Wee Bit Giddy® Bigleaf Hydrangea brings bold flower color to the garden on a compact, easy to place plant. Large mophead blooms develop in deeply saturated shades ranging from rich red pink in neutral soils to purple violet tones in acidic conditions. Dark glossy foliage and sturdy stems provide the perfect backdrop for the colorful flowers, creating an eye catching display from summer into fall.
This reblooming hydrangea flowers on both old and new wood, extending the bloom season and providing dependable garden performance. A cross between Cityline Paris and Let's Dance Rave, Wee Bit Giddy® combines vibrant flower color with a durable landscape habit. Its compact size makes it especially useful for borders, containers, foundation plantings, low hedges, and cutting gardens where season long color is desired.
Hardy in Zones 5 to 9, Wee Bit Giddy® grows best in part sun to sun and moist, well drained soil. Plants mature approximately 24 inches tall and 30 inches wide with a compact mounded habit. Pruning is not recommended, as it can reduce flowering. For gardeners who enjoy experimenting with hydrangea color, more acidic soil conditions can encourage blue to purple flower tones.
