Description / Clematis Diana's Delight™
Huge (6- to 7-inch) blooms open a rich lavender and fade towards the center over time, highlighting the golden stamens. Named for famed Horticulturist and Clematis expert Diana Roland, this extremely long-flowering variety offers a fantastically rich mixture of light and dark purple tones. In ideal weather conditions, the blooms can start as early as May and continue as late as November!
This remarkable cultivar grows to a nice medium size (around 4 feet tall in containers) and is exceptional versatile and adaptable to different garden positions. Because the color stays lovely even in lower light, Diana's Delight™ can be faced any direction. It can sprawl happily across the ground, and its flowers attract bees and butterflies over its very long season!
Diana's Delight™ is a Type 2 Clematis for pruning purposes. It is recommended that you give it a light pruning in spring. Watch for swelling leaf buds, and then cut off all dead material above this. Plant it in a well-drained spot where the leaves are in the sun and the roots are in the shade. Pruning Group II. Zones 4 to 10.
