As some of the earliest blooms in the garden, California Dreaming's speckled-centered, sunny soft yellow "winter roses" will brighten up a winter's day. And since the 3-inch single flowers stand tall on sturdy stems, they're perfect for a cheerful bouquet.
Hans Hansen hybridized this healthy hellebore, valued for its abundant blooms and lovely evergreen foliage, which makes it an appealing ground cover, year-round. Best planted in large groups in locations with dappled shade and moist soil, especially in naturalized areas where it can be allowed to slowly spread.
