Tulipa Ice Age doesn't just tolerate the cold - it depends on it to vernalize properly so that it returns next spring. For areas that don't get those much needed low winter temperatures we suggest you refrigerate your bulbs until spring to ensure rebloom. Neutral soil that is very well drained is the ideal environment for these tulips and it is wise to treat your ground with harsh gravel to deter any hungry rodents who love feasting on tender bulbs. To wake your bulbs for spring simply water right after planting and then put the watering can away - tulips flourish in dry conditions.
