Composting

Create your own nutrient-rich fertilizer!

Composting is the best way to get rich mulches and soil amendments for your garden (as well as reduce landfill waste!), without spending a cent! Not only does compost improve soil structure, texture, and aeration, but it also increases the soil's ability to hold water. Compost also promotes healthy root development: the organic matter provides food for microorganisms, which in turn maintain a healthy balance within the soil. And since nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus will be produced naturally, few, if any, supplements will need to be added!
