Description / Cornus Red Pygmy®

The Cornus Rutnut Red Pygmy® is a gorgeous flowering dogwood that is certain to take your breath away. What sets this particular dogwood apart from others are its flower bracts which are full-sized and stand out impressively against its dwarf habit. Your Red Pygmy® is sure to be a conversation-starter the next time someone comes by to visit. Like other dogwoods, the Red Pygmy attracts birds, so hang a birdhouse or feeder in your tree to encourage them to come by for some company.

The delicate blooms appear in late spring and last until early summer, and the tree sports lush foliage until winter. This beauty will look great near your patio or anywhere around your home, and it even thrives near the woodline. The tree can eventually reach up to seven feet with no pruning, but it does well with some pruning. Due to its small stature, the Red Pygmy can also grow in a container if you don't have a lot of yard space. This small tree enjoys full sun or part shade.

Please note that we cannot ship to Canada, the Virgin Islands, Florida, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
