Description / Dryopteris 'Brilliance' Autumn Fern

Adorn your garden with brilliant color all year long! The leaves of this fern turn from a fiery copper to a gentle green and back again throughout the seasons, and can grow to 1½ to 2 feet high. Besides its remarkable color, the texture of this plant is shiny on the top and lightly downy on the bottom, adding interest. The Brilliance Fern is remarkably easy to please after some pampering of compost and water during its first year. After the first year, the fern will thrive even in shaded, dry areas. Plant ferns 18 inches apart in any soil or environment, as they thrive in all climates. Zones 4-9

Customer Reviews

Review by Lynn
I love this fern and planted it in 2 different places. 1 gets morning sun and is under a pine tree - it is very happy there. The other is planted in almost complete shade under pine trees, and it is not doing well there. I would recommend this, but not in complete shade.
