Description
Native to the Pacific Northwest, this evergreen huckleberry bush maintains a compact habit, maturing to 3 feet high and 3 feet wide. Luscious scarlet new growth emerges in spring, and small white flowers develop in late spring to early summer, followed by delicious black huckleberries in fall. The berries can be added to baked goods or eaten fresh.
For best color and fruiting, plant in full sun. In the warmest regions, a little shade may be beneficial. The bush attracts pollinators of all kinds.
