Description / Heuchera 'Fire Alarm'
'Fire Alarm' is a smokin' hot heuchera with rich texture and bold everchanging color. Its thick, glossy, leathery leaves emerge bright red in spring, brown slightly during summer, and turn fiery red in fall. In early to midsummer, red stems shoot up spikes of small, bell-shaped, pink flowers. These colorful stalks attract butterflies and hummingbirds and make lovely "bits" in floral arrangements. Removing the faded flowers promotes additional blooms.
A clump-forming, semievergreen perennial, this cultivar of coral bells grows up to 12 inches tall and 24 inches wide, with flowers reaching 18 inches high. Requiring little maintenance, the plant grows easily and is salt and drought tolerant and deer and rabbit resistant.
Uses: Banks, Slopes, Beds, Borders, Edging, Groundcover, Containers, Underplanting for Roses and Shrubs
