Heucherella

Dark Green Evergreen with Foamy Flowers

A rare intergeneric hybrid of two genera, Heuchera and Tiarella, Heucherella offers striking dark foliage and light pink, white and cream flowers, usually in the spring. Cold hardy in zones 4 through 9, Heucherella provide the strongest colors when grown in partial shade.

Referred to as "Foamy Bells" due to the shape of their flowers, Heucherella grow from 8 inches to 2 feet high. Disease and pest resistant, they prefer moist, well-drained soil and regular watering. Colorful groundcover for underneath shrubs or combined with other shade-favoring perennials, they are popular in containers brightening up shady areas.
