Description
The Hoya Heart Succulent, also known as Valentine plant or sweetheart wax plant, is appropriately named for its thick, succulent, heart shaped leaves. As if the heart shaped leaves weren't enough during the summer, clusters of white, burgundy centered blooms provide bold contrast to the thick, deep green, variegated leaves. This is a beautiful, low maintenance indoor plant that you'll fall in love with in your home. It also makes the perfect gift for the indoor gardener in your life.
Hoya performs best and is more likely to bloom in bright or indirect sunlight. With its fleshy, succulent leaves, Hoya Heart is relatively drought tolerant and can get by with as little as one or two watering's per month. Water deeply when the soil is slightly dry to the touch, then let the pot drain thoroughly. Although the soil should never become bone dry, wet, soggy soil can result in deadly rot. Be sure Hoya Heart Succulent is planted in a pot with a drainage hole.
