This magnolia tree will produce a profusion of stunning large, deep red-purple flowers that bloom late in the season on otherwise bare stems. This is followed by large, bright green leaves with a narrow crown of upward reaching branches. The beautiful, lightly scented, blooms stand out against the starkness of the tree creating a truly unique show on this sturdy upright tree. Unlike your ordinary magnolia, tree will wow everyone with its unique blooms and bright green leaves. It blooms two to three weeks later than many other magnolias, thereby avoiding late spring frosts. It is also stronger limbed than many magnolias and does not break easily in harsh winter weather. It is a great flowering tree for city or cottage gardens. It is an excellent landscape specimen that will continue to delight year-after-year.
