Rosa Mardi Gras™

Rosa Mardi Gras™

An ideal choice for a blooming hedge!

Given top honors by All America Rose Selections (AARS) judges in 2008, 'Mardi Gras™' performed exceptionally in one of the most rigorous rose trials in the world. This garden gem shows the same impressive vigor and disease resistance of its AARS-winning parent, 'Singin' in the Rain'.

Its pointed, ovoid apricot-orange to red buds slowly open to reveal 4-inch bright pink and yellow blooms with a yellow base that fill the garden with a lovely spicy fragrance.

The colorful clusters of blossoms, which arise continuously throughout their early summer to late summer season, stand out in stark contrast to the dark green leaves. The upright, vigorous, very disease-resistant plant reaches a mature size of 4 feet high and 2½ feet wide, making it a great selection for patio containers as well as the garden. This floribunda is a very consistent performer, and just one plant can create its own parade of color!

Plant in well-drained soil in full sun. Spring pruning is recommended. Old and dead wood should be removed and canes that cross need to be cut back. Gardeners in warmer climates should cut back the remaining canes by about one-third, while those in colder areas will probably want to prune a little more than that.
