Description / Midas Touch Hybrid Tea Rose

Dazzling like gold coins clustered in a medium-green treasure chest, Midas Touch is a valuable bounty for rosarians who want to put some bold, vibrant color in their collection of floral riches. Bright and cheery with beautiful rounded form, the vigorous blooms on the 1992 introduction, a 1994 All-American Rose Selections (AARS) Award winner, are worth their weight in gold—well, almost.

Blooming in flushes throughout the season, Midas Touch produces generous 3- to 4-inch double blooms constructed of as many as 25 petals. The outer edges of the blooms are gently recurved, forming a point in the center of each petal. The musk aroma from the blooms adds to the experience. The blooms also have a long life in the vase.

Resistant to adverse weather and disease, Midas Touch grows up to 3½ feet in height and width. The neon-like flowers refuse to fade during intense heat and humidity. The foliage retains its healthy appearance throughout the year.

An excellent choice in a garden with a hot-color combination or maybe blues and purples, the descendant of Brandy™ and Friesensohne® will stand out in a flower bed or border. The compact shrub can be grown in a container with winter protection.

Midas Touch needs a minimum of maintenance. Spring freeze protection and pruning are highly recommended. Remove old and diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. Canes should be cut by one-third in the winter. Additional pruning is recommended in colder climates.
