Description / New Dawn Climbing Rose
One of the Easiest Climbing Roses to Grow
New Dawn Climbing Rose is a classic rose, beloved for nearly a century for its beauty and exceptional vigor. Introduced in 1930, it was the first rose to receive a patent, a testament to its remarkable qualities. A free-flowering climbing rose with a graceful, arching habit, New Dawn has remained a staple in elegant gardens and dramatic landscapes, where its soft pink blooms and green foliage create a colorful, romantic atmosphere.
A vigorous and highly floriferous climbing rose, New Dawn reaches 18 to 20 feet in height with a mature spread of 7 to 10 feet. Its delicate, fully double flowers open in abundant clusters from late spring to late fall, ensuring a continuous display all season. Each 3- to 4-inch bloom unfurls in a pearlescent shade of blush with gently ruffled petals and a light, sweet fragrance that adds another layer to its appeal. A single cutting provides a bouquet for floral arrangements that evokes classic garden elegance.
One of the easiest climbing roses to grow, New Dawn is very disease resistant and remarkably adaptable. Unlike many climbing roses, it has a tolerance for light shade while still delivering an impressive bloom display. Its hardiness and ease of care make it an excellent choice for all gardeners. Given proper conditions, full sun to partial shade and nutrient-rich, well-drained soil, this rose will flourish with minimal maintenance, rewarding gardeners and pollinators with a near-continuous succession of blooms.
New Dawn’s versatility allows it to seamlessly integrate into a variety of landscape designs including arbors, trellises, or a pergola, adding a beautiful layer of vertical interest in the garden.

Beautiful and vigorous 1 people found this helpfulI bought this rose at Wayside and planted it at my old house, about 15 years ago. I planted three roses in a spot growing up my porch, where there was really only room for one, and this one beat out the other two. It was beautiful the first year, and by the third year it reached the porch roof. It has beautiful foliage; the leaves are dark green and shiny, much better looking than the other two roses. The blooms are plentiful. It is, however, like catnip to japanese beetles. I'm not much for spraying so I mostly ignored them. The rose did not seem to care; it just kept growing and blooming. I did not do any of that wrapping stuff either, just let it sit out in winter, unprotected. I'm back to get a new one for my new house.

Beautiful, strong & carefree 1 people found this helpfulI left this poor plant in its pot on the driveway(as an ant-farm) for a year before planting, Not only did it not die, after two years in the ground with little care it is a long, thick flowering beauty. After heavy pruning this winter it is probably the most wonderful showpiece in my garden.

New Dawn Climbing Rose 1 people found this helpfulI love love this rose vine. Purchased 2 was not sure how they would do. They are doing so well I'm going to purchased 11 more. Have them climbing on a chain link fence. Will be like having a private fence with out the cost. Would love to send a close up picture. Was not able to find a link.
