Description / Panicum 'Heavy Metal'
Commonly called switch grass, this ornamental grass requires little care and produces great results. It is easily grown in average soil, but prefers moist, sandy or clay soils.
'Heavy Metal' has lovely metallic blue foliage and tall growth habit. The blue leaves fade to yellow in autumn, then to tan-beige in the winter months. It is an excellent choice to create a garden "screen" to increase privacy. It will even live happily in a water garden or near a pond.
